In 2009, HotSpots Extended Care Program was formed to support families at Maryland elementary schools requesting before and after school care in a safe, fun, and convenient environment that eliminated transportation.

As our company grew over the years, we decided it was time for an update. In 2022, our team reflected on the past few years, and decided that we needed to update a few key aspects of our business to re-focus ourselves on the whole child. To benefit the children that attend our programs, we have improved operational procedures, elevated training practices for our staff, and revitalized the in-program philanthropic aspect of our non-profit company. In line with these changes, we updated our vision and mission and felt it was only fitting to adopt a new identity—Caliday School Age Programs—to represent the driving force behind these positive shifts.

In 2024, we were thrilled to announce that Caliday became a part of Huffman Family Brands, joining our sister brand, Celebree School, as we continue to serve families with quality care and educational support.

What does Caliday mean?
Cali has Latin origins meaning “beautiful” or “lovely”. Our company needed to go back to our roots of what we do best, and that is providing a beautiful day for the families we serve, and more importantly, the children! We want every student, principal, parent, teacher, and staff member to experience their own beautiful start and/or end to the day when they partner with us.

We achieve this through our vision for Caliday’s future, mission for our current families, and the philanthropic focus that our non-profit company provides.
